For you to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, there are a few requirements which you must keep ready before starting the process. Check the list below.
Apple iTunes at its latest version on the PC or Mac
- Restore to the latest version of iOS 7, i.e. the iOS 7.0.4 through the Apple iTunes after downloading the IPSW of the latest version to your computer
- Remove all the lock passcodes or the Touch ID on your iOS device. You need to go to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Turn Passcode Off (this is for iPhone 5S)
- Take a backup of your data to either iCloud or your PC through Apple iTunes before starting the jailbreak process
Download iOS 7 7.0.4 Jailbreak Evasi0n 7 tool for your computer on Windows OS or Mac OS X –
Download Evasi0n for Windows
Download Evasi0n for Mac
Once you have ensured that everything is perfectly set from the above list, you need to connect your iOS device to the computer, and then start the Evasi0n 7 tool which you had downloaded.
When you start the tool, it would show whether the jailbreak for this particular device is supported or not, and then you will have to click on “Jailbreak” button to start the jailbreaking process.
There will be a set of automated steps performed by the Evasi0n tool, ad you will just have to sit back and relax while it is being done, and better not interfere while the process is going on. The process could take several minutes to complete.
Once the steps are done in the Evasi0n tool, you will have to do a couple steps as informed by it – unlock the device screen and tap the new evasi0n 7 app icon, which would be on the home screen. When tapping, don’t disconnect the iOS device from the computer. There would be a restart done automatically and once again you will have to unlock the screen of the device, after which another restart would finish the process and the screen would show a message “Done”.
Now you can disconnect the device from the computer and then start the Cydia app which is installed in the device.
To still confirm, you can connect the phone to the computer again and open evasi0n, and you will see the message as given in the screenshot below.
The process, although easy to do, is a little risky because you might be successfully locking your iOS device until there is an unlocking process made available by one of the developers, so we suggest you to jailbreak only if you are using an iPhone which is factory unlocked, and not one which you manually unlocked using any tool.
The earlier version of Evasi0n tool had the TaiG App Stpre which is now completely removed in the new version, i.e. the Evasi0n 1.0.1 version.
* This jailbreak trick is working for even the latest beta version, i.e. the iOS 7.1 beta 3, but it’s better if you don’t try doing it in that version, because restoring to the iOS 7.0.4 is the safer option right now.
